Young Fellas Doing It Big

Here is a good example of something positive in the hood. These young guys got together for a small project in class where they created a song. The stereotype is that young males don't get along, but here they did.

Promoting Death

This was taken at what used to be a big gang spot on 104th and Western. To me, it shows what the media portrays in the hood. It is suggesting that problems should be solved with guns. You got a gun? Use it! That's what it is saying. "Hitman" and "Killpoint," these are the messages that are constantly reinforced.

Helicopter scares the kids as police rush to neighbors house

As I was about to call Christina tonight, I heard a bunch of sirens and a helicopter over head. I'm not sure what happened, but the kids outside said the helicopter scared them. It seemed like the cops were doing too much to me.
